NEW EMPLOYEE HIRING PROCEDURE
The Purpose Of This Publication Is To Establish The Procedures Under Which A New Driver Is Hired And The Necessary Steps To Be Taken By The Employer Referred To Later As The "Company" In This Process.

1- interview the applicant and if offered a position then He/she will be sent to get a pre employment drug and alcohol test and a new DOT Physical. The physical is strongly recommended even if the applicant has a current dot card in good standing. This and an acceptable driving record (certified) all of which are conditions of employment.

2- driver qualification file must be completed in its entirety prior to being allowed to work in a safety sensitive function drive.

3- a new employee may not drive until all the above is completed and meets all the rules and regs of the DOT Federal motor carrier rules and regulations.

4- if hired and he/she has gotten their c. D. L. After 2003 he/she must go thru the new entrant class within the first 30 days of employment.

5- an extensive road test also must be given to new employee by a qualified CDL licensed person.

Hazmat Carrier's. In addition to the above the following applies to you;

1- new hires may be subject to a criminal background check to be done by the employer also as a condition of employment.

2- additional trainings;
a- the 3 year mandatory training as prescribed in title 49 sec. 702-704 within the first 30 days of employment.
b- a review of the emergency plans and emergency response procedures.
c- all trainings must be completed in accordance with title 49 702 and 704.
d- instruction in bills of laddens and prescribed paper work policies and procedures.

Recap: The preceding is a basic procedure and may / will be updated as needed by either the revision of or addition of new rules and regulations. You are also required to have periodic trainings.
