The month of June 2008 is again the stepped up Enforcement Program by DOT Agencies.
Recheck the following areas so when you get stopped you will be less likely to be fined :

  1. Make sure that you have your dot physical; a valid drivers license
  2. Make sure it is valid for the class vehicle you are operating.
  3. Make sure that you do a good pre trip inspection. If there is a light out or anything that may attract enforcement to you get it fixed. Remember that when you take the vehicle from the yard you are responsible.
  4. Make sure that your load is properly secured.
  5. Make sure that your fire extinguisher is secured and in the green.
  6. Make sure that you have your triangles and your spare fuses, as well as a hearing aide battery if you wear one.
  7. Make sure of your hours of service.
  8. Be sure that your dot inspection is within 12 months.
  9. HazMat haulers; be sure that you have left a copy of your last load invoice in your vehicle for the next day.
  10. Remember all hazmat you must have your TWIC cads by September 25. 2008 (the last notice I had.
