Transportation News and Updates
June,
2008
The month of June 2008 is again the stepped up Enforcement
Program by DOT Agencies.
Recheck the following areas so when you get stopped
you will be less likely to be fined :
- Make
sure that you have your dot physical; a valid drivers
license
- Make
sure it is valid for the class vehicle you are operating.
- Make
sure that you do a good pre trip inspection. If
there is a light out or anything that may attract
enforcement to you get it fixed. Remember that when
you take the vehicle from the yard you are responsible.
- Make
sure that your load is properly secured.
- Make
sure that your fire extinguisher is secured and
in the green.
- Make
sure that you have your triangles and your spare
fuses, as well as a hearing aide battery if you
wear one.
- Make
sure of your hours of service.
- Be
sure that your dot inspection is within 12 months.
- HazMat
haulers; be sure that you have left a copy of your
last load invoice in your vehicle for the next day.
- Remember
all hazmat you must have your TWIC cads by September
